A two-vehicle crash just outside Garnett yesterday has resulted in injuries one of the drivers. Kansas Highway Patrol reports indicate the wreck happened about 11:45 yesterday morning on US-59 at milepost 107 near Garnett. A 2005 Chevy Suburban was being driven south by David Weirich of Garnett. He was following a 2004 Kia Optima driven by Deborah Manuel-Cathcard of Richmond. She tried to turn left, coming to a stop, and troopers say Weirich rear-ended her car. She was taken to the hospital with apparently serious injuries. He was unhurt. Troopers say both were alone in their vehicles.
