Two people are dead following a crash yesterday in Neosho County. Kansas Highway Patrol reports indicate 75-year old Bobby Ledford and 67-year old Sharon Ledford, both of Walnut, died at the scene of the crash, which was reported at about 11:40 am yesterday on K-39 about 2 miles east of Chanute. Troopers say Mr. Ledford was driving eastbound on K-39 and crossed into the oncoming lane. The car ran onto the north shoulder and struck the bridge guard rail, continued into the ditch and rolled. An autopsy will determine whether he had a medical problem that may have caused the crash. Mrs. Ledford's seat belt was not on correctly, according to the report; it is unclear if she was trying to get the back under control.
