Allen County Clerk Sherrie Riebel is hoping a federal grant will help to save money and time when elections roll around. The grant will pay for 90 percent of the costs of more voting boots, a flatbed scanner and ten electronic poll books. The cost to the county would then only be $3,303.
The new equipment should make the process of voting faster and more effiecent. The electronic poll books will eliminate the alphabetical lines where workers then scroll through print outs to find your name. Instead, they will just type it in and you would sign on the screen.
