GOP Caucus Results: Santorum Wins Easily

The results of Allen County and Southeast Kansas mirrored the statewide results in Saturday's Republican Party Presidential Caucus. Caucus-goers gathered in more than 90 locations in the state, including the southeast Kansas caucus site in Parsons. Statewide, Rick Santorum came away with a majority of the votes, garnering more than 51-percent, followed by Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul.

Out of 45 ballots cast by Allen county caucus-goers, Santorum was chosen on 30 and Romney was the only other candidate to get a double-digit count, garnering 11 ballots. Gingrich and Paul together only had 3 votes. The ratio of Santorum voters over Romney voters was even wider in the Southeast Kansas caucus as a whole. where there were three votes cast for Santorum for every one cast for Romney.
