Iola Police are investigating the death of a 24-year old Iola man. Chief Jared Warner says officers were called to Gabriel Toothman's home in the 700 block of Wilson Lane shortly after 7am Tuesday. EMS workers who were also called because Toothman was reported unresponsive pronounced him dead at the scene. While stopping short of calling the death suspicious, Warner said in a news release yesterday afternoon that things officers learned during the initial interviews after Toothman's body was discovered have prompted the department to call in the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. Autopsy results are pending.
