Boil Notice in Effect for RWD #4 in the Bronson Area

Those who live in Bronson area and are served by Bourbon County Rural Water District #4 are under a boil water advisory. The rural water district has experienced a loss of pressure in the water system. When such a loss of pressure occurs, it is possible for contaminants to enter the system. Chlorine residuals may also drop to levels that are inadequate to protect against bacterial contamination. The state placed the bill advisory in effect until further notice. Residents should boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation, or use bottled water. Also, throw out ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker. Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled.
