Neosho County is the latest in the region to institute a burn ban. At their meeting Friday, commissioners put a burn ban in effect throughout Neosho County, effective immediately. Similar to the Allen County ban, only open burning and careless discarding of cigarettes are included. Permanent stoves, fireplaces or barbecue grills in developed recreation sties or at your home are still permitted. Campfires in non-permanent pits are considered and example of open burning, and prohibited by the ban.
